Graphic novels / BD

BDs are a huge part of the francophone culture.

Many childhood heroes such as Tintin, Spirou, Gaston Lagaffe, Les schtroumpfs and Boule et Bill come from Belgium, and have been followed more recently by Le chat, Cédric or l’élève Ducobu amongst others.

Quebec is also very productive when it comes to BD. Authors such as Michel Rabagliati (the Paul series), Guy Delisle, Julie Doucet, Jimmy Beaulieu are very creative and popular.

Many BD authors also come from France, and can specialise in humour, graphic novels, biographies, fiction, fantasy etc.

At la librairie we aim to offer a bit of everything, and graphic novels come from everywhere. They are either written or translated into French.
